Comic-Con: Motion Graphics

Focus: Creative Process

What to do when your team is tasked with creating attention-grabbing motion graphics for dozens of upcoming titles? Divide and conquer, then evaluate together. Assets ranged from layered interior artwork, to flat images of covers that would require creative workarounds.

We split up all titles between three of us, and got to work animating. We would reconvene intermittently to give each other feedback, leading to our final, polished executions. Our meetings were long and tedious, but I can’t think of a more fun project I’ve worked on. Seeing my designs displayed live at Comic-Con was a really cool moment for me early in my career.

Output:
The motion graphics were on display at Comic-Con in New York and San Diego, as well as the D23 convention. They were also repurposed for social.
