If there is one thing I’ve learned, graphic design isn’t just about what looks cool. It’s about capturing the essence of a brand and its message in a way that will make the consumer take action; buy now, learn more, donate, sign up. Sometimes executions call for intricate, complex designs, and other times they need to be simple and elegant. Finding the balance, rather than jamming in too much content, or merely slapping words over an image, is what makes a designer succeed. The beauty of graphic design is that there’s never a dull moment. Whether at an agency, or in-house, I am constantly hopping from one project to the next, completing requests of all shapes and sizes. I’ve created everything from print ads to podcast tiles, from social media ads to sweatshirts, from websites to water bottles, and from billboards to bus sides.
