Focus: Owning a Workstream
I had overseen specific projects before, but this was the first time I would be in charge or everything design related for an entire convention. This didn’t just mean designing the event collateral, but looking at the site map, and the event schedule, and suggesting additional signage and posters. I worked directly with our sponsors and vendors, to get proofs approved and discuss any and all logistics of the event.
It wasn’t a one-track role where I was given assignments to design and forget about, I was a team member first and a designer second. I was fully invested in the event and its success, and after all said was said and done, the event was just that. A success.
